During the summer of 2020, after COVID settled down a bit, Hawaii opened interisland travel as long as you got a PCR test if you were flying from Oahu to any other island. My family and I decided to seize the opportunity to visit Kauai and tour the island.
Throughout the trip, we visited the Kauai Coffee Company, Na Pali Coast line, Waimea Canyon, as well as many other sites. The whole trip, my girlfriend and I were filming our experiences and showing how COVID impacted air travel. After we were done visiting Kauai, I spent about 20 hours editing, cutting, and processing all the video we got. I had many video sources, including a drone, smartphones, and cameras. I got a lot of good quality time learning Final Cut Pro X, both on the video side and the sound side as far as sound levels go. It was something that was not only a lot of fun, but also taught me some valuable skills as well. Final Cut Pro X isn’t a huge learning curve but audio leveling and video editing in general is (at least to put out a good product).
